The Story of the Batavia Shipwreck

Most of the survivors made their way to an island, which was later named Beacon Island. The commander of the captain and about 40 other men went to an island that was nearer the shipwreck. With the party split up this way, the majority of the survivors were on an island by themselves with no leadership.
