The manual says, in every word indeed, Jesus Christ exemplified pure love. At no time was this more evident than during the final hours of the Savior's mortal life. His willingness to submit to scourging, mocking, and crucifixion while restraining his power to end his torments showed he suffereth long and beareth all things. He is doing it for a lot of reasons to do the Father's will, but also because it just comes perfectly natural to him to do what we need him to do for us.
