The Success of the Monarchy

The monarchy brings a form of stability in often very difficult times, an insures some degree of legitimacy to british institutions. It's intestinct that left wing prime ministers such as clement atley and harold wilson, also perhaps tony blair, have been particularly supportive of the monarchy. We haven't had a change of regime since the sevnteenth century. Its because of that that the monarchy survives. And its survival, i believe, is a good way of making change acceptable.
