Psychologist Monica Wadwa found that getting close to a wind can boost your motivation and drive. A study from the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology looked at donations to Kiva, the online charity. As people got closer to their stated goal, giving went dramatically up. And this goes to really why do people give to charity? Some of it's to be altruistic and relieve negative emotions, but it's also so they can feel effective.
