Phil visited Hong Kong India Cairo and Europe on his round the world trip in December 1962. He was itching to get home to pick up his shoe samples and start his new business venture. Onitsuka sent 12 pairs of creamy white running shoes with curved blue stripes down the side. Phil's dad grunted with surprise when he saw them but Phil couldn't hide his glee.
