What Are the Stars, the Star Fields?

Rudolph Steiner says that back in the day, they reversed the labels and probably the symbols for Mercury and Venus. And let's not forget how important Venus was to these folks. It was named Lucifer. So many ideas tied up in it. What is a star? I mean, do we know what a star is? We know what we're told. There are million, billion, gazillion, trillion, million, zillion, trillion light years away but we can see them. Are those souls? Are they apertures in a dark field, letting light through what are they? I want to know.
