Boris Johnson is fighting for his political future as a front bench Tory MP. If the privileges committee sanctions him for more than 10 days, that can trigger something called a recall petition. And if enough constituents say they want a by election, you would then get a by election. There is a very strong possibility, given the state of the polls that Boris Johnson would therefore lose his seat.
