In my opinion, sanctions worked in south africa and can work because you have a society where there is political opposition. That is not going to happen in russia any more than it happens in ineran or in venezuela. And so there is a big difference between the two. Sanctions that are imposed by the u. N,. while these sanctions are theoretically imposed by all countries round the world which makes it very difficult for target country to circumvent them. It's not impossible. For instance, norcareis under u nSanctions, and it manages to well circumvent thesanctions to some extent. But still, it makes it much trickier.
