There is no doubt that there is a very strong correlation. We even in our 2017 paper, we had a graph where we looked at GDP of the state and the prevalence of diabetes. Now, are we surprised by that? And are we disappointed? That means as a state gets richer, you pay the price of more diabetes? Well, we are not surprised because what happens when the state gets richer,. When people become more affluent, what do they do? First of all, they eat more," he said.
