The Art of Plastering Stones
Polychrome paintings were found under the plaster at a royal salt works castle in valicka, poland. The oldest of these newly discovered paintings date back to the seventeenth century and they've been covered over with successive layers of plaster since then. Researchers from the universities of york and durham have come to the conclusion that prehistoric peoples carved these stones by firelight.
