The Christian Life Is Fundamentally Parabolic
The way we speak about the kind of fundamental language with which I want to talk about the Christian life has shifted over the course of this decade in no small part under pressure from these kinds of ways of reading Paul. The advent of God is precisely the context within which our own lives are to be set and understood. That for which we pray, the coming of the kingdom is precisely to enact ever so human, but genuine parables of the kingdom in all of the places where we actually find ourselves.
