CHAPTER

The Transcendence of Time

Music has always struck me as something like a four dimensional sculpture that's manifesting itself in three dimensions. To me that's a very close analog to what the world is like and it's multiplicity of layers that are all interacting. In so far as anything is real it constitutes a pattern that repeats either spatially or temporally. It means things like smoke for example a cloud of smoke is sort of pseudo real in that sense because it doesn't really have any borders but most things although it does persist across moments of time which is a form of patterning.
