The Israelis are constantly concerned about what would happen if Hezbollah could let loose a significant number of missiles. I don't think Iron Dome has solved that problem, but the key point is that Netanyahu and Barak, who was unlike Netanyahu, was not all bark. They wanted to go for it. And the rest of the cabinet was unprepared to go there. The IDF was pretty strongly opposed to it, I was told.
