How Long Have You Been Hearing Loki From College Students?

Loki is an adverb that modifies either an adjective or a verb in a way that it really plays off the normal ing of loki, which is not elaborate or showy. It's used to put a hedge on something that's really negative, to kind of diminish the negative effect of thing that you have said or that you're about to say. The original loki comes from photography: A low-key photograph has a muted or almostirish mood; i didn't realize how much ant there was to it until later.
