The Forest of Ter, the Biggest in Southern Greece
Kikierali runs a small tavern and grows vines and chestnuts in the mountain village of cotino mila, which means red apple tree. She's expecting a party from the nearby town for lunch, and she's already lit the wood stove in the corner. In winter they get more than two metrs of snow up here, and when it melts, it runs down in rivulets that water the vibrant green magali. It's not an easy life, but it is a resilient one, nourished by the sounds and smells and tastes of the forest.
