Confessions to God and Human Beings

In Protestantism, you confess sin to God alone. In Roman Catholicism, oh, it's the both and you get confession to God and human beings. I don't think confession to a priest is anything like confessing in a small group at your Bible church because a priest is bound by the seal of confession. If he breaks that seal, he will be excommunicated from the church. The seal of confession is inviolable. He can never break it. And so there's that confidence in being able to confess anything, even the most embarrassing sins to a man who stands in the person of Christ.
