The Death of Flash Was a Big Reason for the Switch
The death of flash was the main reason for the switch. But also people's technological capabilities just increased. For instance, good year needed a system where they could open up either their iPhone or their Android device and tap an NFC tag on a machine to collect a sample. So it was an opportunity to rejig everything and reconsider how everything was done in terms of how somebody who's new to coding would think when they go to write an application.
