The Transition to Foraging for Dense and Predictable Resources
In neolithic times, a shift away from the hunter gather existence to one dependent on intensive agriculture. The foraging shift to dente and predict resources is another key milestone that had consequential impacts on the later part of human evolution. This could be the transition point between people who just roam about following resources and consuming them wherever they can be found. That and then, on the other hand, having farm land in between. You could have places where there are naturally high density resources that might not be quite farming yet, but might be worth defending as a stable territory. Yes. And maybe mushroom foraging is one of those things that remains outside of that tradition for these very reasons we've been discussing
