The Civil Military Dilemma in American Psychiatry

A key difficulty that emerges is the idea of military culture, where people in the military are ingrained with certain values and ideas. Part of their struggle post-comp is having to reconcile what they did on the battlefield with who they are as soldiers or who they thought they were. These combine to send people in search of resolution in a very personal rather than material transformation.
