Introduction

A 14 year old previously healthy teenager with no significant past medical history presents to the pediatric ICU. The patient is brought to the ER due to persistent auditory and visual hallucinations followed by agitation, aggressive behavior and catatonia. She has an unprovoked convulsive episode concerning for a generalized tonic onyx seizure. A head CT was normal and a lumbar puncture just revealed colorless CSF with 8 white cells and 0 red cells.
