The Great Theophany
In the book of Job, God reveals himself to Job by saying, I've dealt with things that I do not understand. John Beloved has rested his head against Christ's chest on the night of the Last Supper and stayed with Jesus faithfully all the way through the crucifixion. The proper response to the true God is awe - it's actually to tremble. This is not a nerf version of God. We're talking about the New Testament God.
