Cane and the Writhers - The Improper Way to Engage

No one ever lives where they're supposed to live. They live in, live in canaan, and not the promised land. The fundamental idea is something like there's no time for sitting around. There's time to go out into the world and engage. And then there's hints about the proper and improper ways of engaging,. So clearly, the improper way to engage is, i think, most clearly delineated in the cane and abel story - with cane exemplifying the inappropriate way to engage with the world.
