The German Intervention in North Africa Changes Everything

Germany's intervention into the campaign in the Mediterranean area basically changes everything. More British ships will be sunk by Luftwaffe bombers certainly than the Italian Navy during the course of the Mediterranean campaign. And then a second factor that they also will bring in is eventually they will bring in U-boats beginning in the fall of 1941. They will prove to be more effective than their Italian counterparts in conducting submarine operations in the Mediterranean.
