The Disinhibition of Kitchen Misbehaviour

As shefts are usually hidden from view, many feel like they have the freedom to act in a generally disinhibited way. Even in more contemporary open kitchens where chefs and their work are in plain sight of other people, there's still larger parts of those open kitchens which are hidden from Plain Sight. So we've got numerous reports of shouting, punching, throwing things, as well as and male kind of serious forms of physical abuse. However, this study is part of a larger data set where we've reports of more extreme criminal acts, jaws being broken. We are talking about perforating eardrums, stabbing with kitchen probes, beatings and sexual abuse.
