Are the Romans Worshipped as Gods in the East?
There's a theory later on, and i think it might be operating here too, that when we do have emperors in rome, they're worshipped as gods in the east. And this kind gives me the perception of somebody who would like to be worshipped, yes. So no doubt, caesar has seen this happen where hellenistic monarchs are basically worshipped as gods during their lifetime. Now he can't openly allow that to happen, but there's sort of an inching towards the symptoms of the iconography in terms of the using of a thronea by mark antony.
