Huxley and Orwell's Brave New World
Brave New World and 1984 are two of the most famous science fiction novels ever written. Huxley envisions a future in which there is no pleasure, whereas1984 is a very depressive nightmarish vision of the future. In Brave New World, the population almost voluntarily gives up its freedom to be perpetually in a state of shallow bliss. We worry that big powers will gain control of us and turn our society into a authoritarian, totalitarian system.
