Bogart's Passivity

Bogart first married in 1926 to a prominent stage actress named Helen Menken. He then took his second wife, Mary Phillips, who was an actress herself but of middling success. In 1938 he got up to no good with a not very successful actress named Mayo Metho. Their fights were legendary, as was their drinking. The press called them the battling Bogart's.
