Dickens has something to say about the family element of Christmas but also the chaos that your family bring when you go back and you revert to your childhood self. G.K. Chesterton was very much this is about playfulness and he said it also should be about doing nothing idling. He liked writing in these sort of paradoxes because people prepare for it by being incredibly busy so he said they rushing about bustling on cramps.
