Bonaparte and the Insurrection of 1795

In 17 95, 25 thousand parisians gathered for a march on th convention in support of the restored monarchy. After their insurrection had been put down, they massed south of the seine to reach the convention. The insurgents never made it across the river and never really threatened the convention. In thanks for saving the convention that napoleon bonaparte was given command of the army of italy.
