Duane's Testimony in the Stephen Lawrence Case Was Discredited
Duane's credibility was further shot to shreds in October 1993 when he was arrested for violent misconduct. by a statement given by a sergeant Crowley who claimed that Duane had picked Neil Acre out of a lineup because of his descriptions that friends had given him not because he actually recognized him. The case just fell apart with no reliable witness the jury never got to see the secret camera footage. This is the first time that the Stephen Lawrence case ever made it to trial and it was the first time the Lawrence's ever heard Duane's side of the story up until that point they had believed rumors that Duanes had left Stephen and just run off.
