The old way and I don't know where these things are going to land, maybe would think I'm talking about thinking. But what we need is a term for everything that is verbal that occurs between the ears that we hear in our head without separate from all those other things I mentioned. Like there are things that can exist in our heads separate from sensing, feeling, embodiment, connection. And so this thing that happens between the earsthat doesn't involve all that, that Occupy Space needs a name. In previous discussions, I've called that the trapped attention or movement. It's the seed of maybe it maps onto parasitic processing.

In this conversation I speak with Jill Nephew. Jill, a former AI black box algorithm engineer with extensive experience in developing software architectures, holds a highly heterodox perspective on the risks associated with LLM AIs. In this conversation we explore Jill's argument that using LLMs like ChatGPT or Bard are like eating plastic for your cognitive agency and natural intelligence, how it is that AIs could cause the rise of new 'supercults', and how another world is possible, if only we learn to ask the right questions.
