The Importance of Idioms in English
An idiom is subconsciously used because it is the easiest way of saying this. To not think twice about something means to not carefully consider it, for it to come naturally. Using wouldn't think twice is the most common way of expressing that idea. There are idioms that are so frequently in use and are so much more natural than the literal term which would sound really weird and unnatural.
