The Postmodern Constructivism of Putnam
Professor Putnam said that life has absolutely no purpose or meaning to it. He adopted a specific version of postmodern constructivism, where the world is constructed by our theories. What he should have done was accept the tremendous benefits of science but simply added other ways of knowing that could have gotten him to God and objective value. But instead, he went the way of making everything, ultimately, a construction which doesn't have the gravitas to give one meaning because there's a huge difference between an objective moral law and a custom like eating your peas with a fork instead of a spoon.
