The archbishop of sydney, anthony fisher, has replaced george pell as the leader of the conservative wing of the catholic church in australia. In his homily he quoted mark's gospel about how jesus taught his disciples the error of their ways. He accused those who wanted reform that may give lay catholics a great essay in the way the church runs, of aping secular modes of governance.
