The Importance of Unanimity in Eldership
Capital Hill doesn't require unanimity among its elders to make decisions. "I think that a fact is generally a chilling one on honest questions and even dissent," says the church's chair. A motion from an elder needs to be in writing, then it gets on the floor as it were for discussion. Some issues will take hours to discuss; some will take two minutes but he'll decide right.
