CHAPTER

The Importance of Primary and Secondary Causation

There's two levels of causation. James Anderson, one of my favorite philosophers theologians, he made this distinction in a paper between alpha and beta causation. God exercises alpha causation over the story, but not beta causation or intra-narratival causation. But even when he's entering into Christ, looks like he's doing more beta causation. That doesn't mean that all of the agents in the arena are being acted upon by God to behave and act particular ways.
