The Benefits of Veganism
Veganism is a lifestyle that excludes all animal products from one's diet and other aspects of life. Some studies have found that vegan diets can improve heart health and lower the risk of some cancers, such as breast, prostate and colon cancer. A vegan diet is typically higher in fibre and lowering cholesterol, protein, calcium and salt compared to a non-vegan diet. It can also cause some nutritional deficiencies, such as Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and calcium. So while veganism can be better for your health, the environment and for animals, it's not a simple choice.
