If our squishy bodies die out and we all convert to silicon that is a good thing, he says. So are all forms of acceleration of progress good? To some extent it depends on things that we don't know for example if it turns out that qualia are not an automatic consequence of explanatory creativity then we would have a new moral problem of how to value the two in cases where they seem to conflict.
