The History of the United States in 100 Objects
The hiawatha belt and several others were taken out for display and given into the r of spiritual leaders of the mohawk. So on these conditions, the two sides signed a formal agreement, and the belts were handed over from the regents to the onondaga in 19 89. And after that point, they were kept in a bank vault for safe keeping in syracuse and left there except when taken out for educational or ceremonial use.
