The Importance of Orthodox Theology in Nicaea II's Arguments
Nicaea II: Iconoclasts at Hirea were against the idolatry and worship of things created. They banned idols, but they also allow for sacred images. The image of a lamb is allowed, even more so that this image is actually good for the Christian religion. It was simply remembrance and commemoration of their archetypes that they kissed them and gave them the veneration of honor. May it happen that everyone follows the Catholic church and embraces all depictions of the gospel and combats apostolic succession? To move on, let's go to session six.
