The Apocalypse in Luke 14
It is important to note the parallel and in Luke for a few different reasons One, it really does highlight the apocalyptic sense That the listeners probably heard the parable in. And so you have Jesus saying when you give a banquet in light of the banquet to come Don't invite your upstanding friends so that they can throw you a party again. Then you'll be repaid at the resurrection of the just. In Luke's version he says Go out quickly to the streets and lanes, bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.
