The first imitation is just notice what's happening without judging it, literally saying in your mind, oh, wow, I'm noticing that my mind is spinning in all sorts of stories and scenarios and making assumptions right now that are making me feel bad. And that is the first process of actually bringing you back from being focused on the future or the past to the present moment. So step one, notice the chatter. Often we become consumed in a spin cycle of thoughts that take us to a not healthy place without even realizing
