There's overwhelming evidence that these types of viruses survive very well at very low humidity. During the winter time, we heat our air and the indoor humidity ends up being 10, 20% in some cases. And so if you can increase that humidity up to maybe 40%, 40 or 50%, then a lot of studies find that the viruses don't survive as well under those conditions.
