Reactive Attachment Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder

There's very little data on the incidence and prevalence of reactive attachment disorder in the general population. The studies that have been done have largely been done in residential treatment centers. Social neglect, limited opportunities to develop secure attachments or unusual environments with limited opportunities to form selective attachments are all risk factors for autism spectrum disorders.
