The Benefits of Equal Weighted Indexes

If you don't want 2% exposure to Amazon in terms of the S&P 500, use an equal weighted Russell 1000. Equal weight indices do better when smaller average size companies are doing well. Fundamental indexing uses other measures such as revenue and book value rather than market capitalization. This is a way to not have such a large exposure to Amazon for whatever reason.
