The History of the Internet

When internet was created, people almost immediately started to experiment with it. But very quickly they realized it's not at all anonymous and whatever you do can be recorded. An early project and sister to Tor is actually called mixnet and remailers. The first remailer was called Panet. And the way it worked was extremely basic. You would basically send an email to it and then the server would take the email, remove your name, put some generic alias and send it to the recipient.
