The Power of the Open Ecosystem
When things get locked up behind single companies, not only does that hurt the publishing side of things. But on the consuming side of things, you know, for the, for the customers or listeners or users, they have little choice in how they consume things either. And that's why it's just, it's so important for me to keep it that way because it's so powerful as a publisher and frankly as a listener. That's a super comprehensive view of how the web should work. And I really appreciate it.
Marco tells the story of how he became a Mac enthusiast, indie app developer and tech podcaster, covering his work on Tumblr, Instapaper, Overcast and Accidental Tech Podcast, among other projects. He also explains why he thinks it's so important to maintain the open Web and podcasting through RSS, in the face of more exclusive publishing platforms and audio hosts.
