The Bodhisattva's Step of Right Thought
The Buddha is very clear about his own practice as a Bodhisattva, and how he worked with the thoughts that led to his own affliction. So following on the Buddha's footsteps, we can cultivate in ourselves an increasingly clear discernment of the kinds of thoughts that are arising in our mind. We can notice those thoughts inclining towards renunciation, or goodwill, or compassion, reflect on their value, and strengthen them in our lives.
