Protective parts of us have been so gaselet by our trauma ecosystem, interpreting when bad things happen to us that the meaning they make of it is something's wrong with the human eye and habit. These protective parts of us come online in the face of betrayal and abandonment in neglect in the attachment context. They come online that, ooh, there's no parent here that's attuning to this child. There's no parenthere that's teaching this child to protect themselves. This human is not worthwhile.
