The Benefits of Laughter and Humour
Human social bonding is partly based on endorphins. The stuff that makes us feel really close is often the stuff that fuels those endorphins, like singing and dancing together. We tell jokes in part because laughing feels good. You also see an increased uptake of naturally circulating endorphins - your body's natural painkillers. And you see that when you've been laughing, which is one of the reasons where you get a nice warm, buzzy feeling when you have been laughing.
